Rachel, Adrian, Jamie and the Stanley Grandparents have recently come back from a two week gite holiday in the Loire Valley.
We visited lots of chateaus, drank lots of reasonable French wine and ate copious amounts of cheese. Whilst we were in France, Jamie started to turn himself over onto his back and attempt to crawl. Thankfully it will be a couple of months before Jamie builds up enough strength in his upper arms to start crawling.
The walker clan plus John N & Andrew H should recognise the chateau below - Samur Chateau - the one and only chateau that we managed to visit during the epic one day round trip drive from cherbourg to the Loire valley in 2004. Guess what - it closed shortly after our first visit and won't reopen until next year.
A swarm of bees invaded our first Gite so we had to stay in a hotel overlooking Samur for a night whilst they unsuccessfully tried to get rid of the bees. We also met a wanna-be Mrs Bucket/Bouquet who commented on Jamie's presence in the dining room.
We also spent a day wandering around some troglodyte caves in ROCHEMENIER that some French farmers lived in between 17th and 20th Century

Jamie loves playing with his mum especially when she blows raspberries on his tummy.
